Basic Bundt Cake Recipes

Making a delicious Bundt cake is very simple. Here is the list of easy-to-follow directions to make the basic Bundt cake. One needs:

- Bundt cake pan
- Flour, vegetable shortening, or a non-stick spray on oil
- Bundt cake ingredients
- An oven
- Yummy topping of choice
- Spatula

Step 1: Prepare the cake pan
Spray the pan with a non-stick vegetable oil or shortening and dust it with flour. It must reach into the grooves on the pan and is spread fairly evenly. Tap the pan to spread the flour evenly throughout the pan, if flour is chosen.

Step 2: Pour the cake batter
While pouring the batter in the pan, try to avoid bubbles by slowly pouring the batter into the corner of the pan and let it spread itself out evenly. Then tap the pan to get any air bubbles to rise to the top and out of the cake batter. Use a spatula to push the batter up the walls of the pan just a little bit, this makes the cake to rise easier.

Step 3: Bake the cake
During baking the cake, put it on the center rack of the oven. If a black or dark-colored pan is used, then a 25-degree Fahrenheit temperature reduction is needed from the recommended oven temperature. Bake for the time indicated and let it to cool for exactly 10 minutes. Use safety hot pads, gently and carefully pick up the cake and shake it from side to side and listen for any thumping. A thumping sound tells whether the cake is loose and ready to invert.

Step 4:
Enjoy the delicious cake.
